Abstract Interview of Junior Deaton by David L. Hensley.

Interviewer's description-
"Mr. Deaton discussed some of the problems the miners had when they were on strike at Brookside, Kentucky. He stated that it became very dangerous at that time in Harlan County. He feels if people would negotiate there wouldn't be any reason for a strike at all. Mr. Deaton states that he is against strip mining and feels it is what causes so many of the floods that we have in the county. Mr. Deaton now owns a store at Ages, Kentucky (Harlan County) and it is considered the Little Union Mining Store."
