Interview of Mellie Brown by Sara White. Brown discusses her background and the Three Point coal camp. Interviewer's description- "Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 20, 1907 in Bell County, Kentucky. She spent her early years on a farm. She learned to farm and preserve food. She married Ted Brown, Dec. 17, 1927 and eventually moved to Three Point Coal Camp near Harlan, Kentucky. She describes her life as a housewife. She discusses canning and preserving food, cooking, sewing-quilting, etc. She describes her family and comments on the importance of attending church and getting a good education."
