Interview of Dona Neverstich by Chuck Bledsoe. Neverstich discusses her background and the pioneer days in Eastern Kentucky.
Interviewer's description-
"Mrs. Neverstich was born in 1906 at Linefork, Kentucky. Her family has lived at Jackson, Linefork, Lynch, Benham and Cumberland, Kentucky. She describes life in a log cabin for her and her four brothers and five sisters. Topics included here are: 1) gardening 2) ethnicity in coal camps 3) education 4) medical practices (folk remedies) 5) the flu epidemic of 1918 and 6) ghost stories." |
