"Mrs. Harbin describes how life was while on a mountain farm near Varilla, Kentucky. She discusses her education, folk medicines, molasses making, honey trees, hunting ginseng, life in a log cabin, self-sufficiency and her family's eventual move from the mountain farm to a boarding house."
