Abstract Interview of Martha McNeil by Caroline P. Fox.

Interviewer's description-
"Mrs. McNiel told about her background from childhood through college that covers four states. She was born in Shelby, North Carolina, moved to Dallas, Texas, then to Knoxville, Tennessee and finally settled in Harlan, Kentucky. Her musical career was most influenced by her grandfather and her mother. She went to Carson Newman College and got her BA in voice and then received her teaching degree from the University of Tennessee. Martha plays the piano and autoharp. At one time, she taught voice in several schools. She is now the full-time director of the Harlan Baptist Church music department. She also performs at weddings, funerals or any other function that needs a performer or director. She was gracious enough to sing and play the autoharp in the middle of this interview. For the closing, Martha played the piano and sang 'Amazing Grace'."
