Abstract Interview of Reverend Bernard Lovely by Martha F. Blair.

Interviewer's description-
"This oral history tape focuses on the establishment of Sunny Acres First Church of God in Harlan, Kentucky, some of its early leaders and Rev. Lovely's 10 year tenure as pastor. Cooperative effort among several denominations is applauded by this minister. It also discusses his opinion of the school systems in Harlan County, Southeast Community College and other Kentucky colleges. As a rule politics and religion do not mix in Southeast Kentucky, but Rev. Lovely served three years on the Harlan City Council during which plans and ground work were laid for the Harlan by-pass. This small church is the only one of its denomination in Harlan County with very few being located in Southeast Kentucky. It has never been financially able to pay a full-time minister, Rev. Lovely worked part-time at Harlan (Ford) Motor and drove a school bus for the Harlan County School Systems to support his family."
