Interviewer's description-
"The contents of this tape is a biographical sketch of Cecil Hensley's view of life beginning in the early 1900's. Topics of discussion include: life on Hensley Settlement, mining industry, depression, war, killing, indians and the hardships of life during this period. Mr. Hensley shares several folk tales about two mountain events and several ballads telling of mountain happenings. Throughout the interview Mr. Hensley stresses the difficulties and hardships of survival in the 'good old days'."
