Abstract Interview of Pauline Click by Ronda Helton. Click discusses her background.

Interviewer's description-
"This interview is with my grandmother, Mrs. Pauline Click. She talks about her childhood and how she grew up. About how she lived back in the depression and how her grandmother delivered babies (midwifery), she also talks about the organization of the unions and how the gun thugs treated her and her family. (Her father was killed, shot 13 times over the union). She talks about her education, how you were taught back then, how education is different now and if you got in trouble at school, you did at home also. She finished up to the 8th grade, then she went the first day of high school, but she couldn't go back because she had a list of supplies she had to have, but her father could not afford to send her. Then when she was older she went back to school and finished, then went to business school and nursing school and became a nurse. She is presently a nurse at the 'Laurels' (a nursing home in Harlan County) part-time."
