Abstract Interview of Lois Scott by Katie Gilliam.

Interviewer's description-
"This is an interview with Lois Scott, she talks about the Brookside Strike. In the summer of 1973, the coal miners of Eastover Mining Company a subsidiary of Duke Power Company, voted to join the United Mine Workers of America (U.M.W.A.), when refused, they went out on strike. Mrs. Scott tells about reasons for the strike, as well as, some incidents that occurred during the strike. She gives an insight of the excitement and agony of standing on a picket line for thirteen months to fight for the establishment of the U.M.W.A. at Eastover Mining Company."
