"Bettie Cannon is a writer from Detroit, Michigan who addresses a combined English Composition class at Southeast Community College. She discusses the eight year process of getting her new novel published. This novel is juvenile fiction set in Harlan, Kentucky and concerns a teenage girl whose father's suicide forces the family to move from Detroit back to the rural settings in Kentucky."
