"Dorothy Vanover discusses the reasons for her decision to work in the coal mines, how she acquired her job in the mines, her closeness with male co-workers, her lack of fear of the mines and the accident she was in at the beginning of her career, how each particular age group of men in the mines treated her, her working relationship with other female co-workers, how her boss treated her, how other jobs that she has had, compares with working in the mine and makes a closing statement about how the mines has made her more independent."
