Abstract Interview of Laura Shepherd by Ronald Collier.

Interviewer's description-
"Mrs. Shepherd was born at Eolia, Kentucky in 1892 into a family of nine. Her father served as magistrate and postmaster at Eolia. She recounts her early life on a mountain farm. She describes her two marriages-the last to Hays Shepherd who was a country music artist who recorded a song entitled "The Peddler and His Wife" which is about an 1896 murder which prompted the last public hanging in Harlan County. Other topics here include: (1) John Fox, Jr., (2) antique possessions, and (3) family anecdotes and events."
