Abstract Interview of Ephie Blanton by Dianne B. Nolan. Blanton discusses his background and coal mining.

Interviewer's description-
"Mr. Blanton was born October 31, 1915 in Laurel County Kentucky. He recounts some childhood memories. He dropped out of school at an early age to help with the farming. He married Eunice Saylor in 1935 and they reared a family of four boys and two girls. Mr. Blanton began working in the coal mines at Molus, Kentucky. Later he worked for U.S. Steel at Lynch and Clyde Bennett. He later purchased a coal mine on Forester's Creek near Coldiron for $400.00 which eventually grew into a multi-million dollar coal operation 'Kentucky-Harlan Coal Company'."
