Abstract Interview of Janie Witt by Glenda Scott.

Interviewer's description-
"Janie was born at the old Harlan hospital and was reared at Dartmont, Kentucky in Harlan County where she lived the first five years of her life. Her family moved to Highsplint and then to River Ridge where she graduated from high school. Her father worked in the coal mines for 26 years and her mother worked at home. She met and later married Harold Witt on July 30, 1969. They moved to Louisville, Kentucky where he worked on a construction crew. They eventually moved back to Harlan County where her husband worked in the mines at Clyde Bennett's and United States Steel until he decided to form his own construction company. They presently have two children, both girls, Leslie (9 years old) and Lauren (3 years old). She is presently employed as a bookkeeper/secretary for her husband's construction company."
