"Mr. Williams speaks of his birth in Harlan, November 26, 1913 and of early school and church life at Evarts where he and his eight brothers and two sisters lived. He discusses his forty years of residence at Sandhill (Cumberland, Kentucky), his involvement in the shoe repair business for 43 years-in Cumberland. He comments on bootlegging, moonshining and Harlan County politics."
