"Mrs. Rice was born in Perry County, Kentucky and moved from Hazard to Cumberland, Kentucky where she now resides. She mentions growing up on a farm and the work involved with subsistence farming. Her husband Henry Rice, worked as a coal miner in Perry County. Mrs. Rice talks some about how youth today differs from youth of her day."
