Abstract Interview of Mary Lou Padgett by Mike Howard.

Interviewer's description-
"Mary Lou Coldiron was born on a hillside farm. She describes herself as being a daughter, a housewife and a farmer/coal miner. She was the seventh child in a family of eleven and had a very traditional rural mountain childhood. They raised and preserved large amounts of food. She recalls attending a one-room school, and attending church (for both religious instruction and entertainment). She describes her marriage to Ralph Coldiron at age 16 and talks about her career as a Circuit Court Clerk for Harlan County for 18 years (serving during the administration of five sheriffs). There is also some genealogy outlined here for the Howard and Jones families."
