Abstract Interview of Katherine Dennison by Joyce D. Lucas. Dennison discusses the cultural changes in Bell County, Kentucky.

Interviewer's description-
"Mrs. Dennison was born in Bell County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Lee Martin. Her father was a day laborer early in life (primarily carpentry) but turned to making moonshine whiskey after he became partially disabled with arthritis. She explains that the whole family played a role in this enterprise--even including standing guard to watch for the revenue agents. Her father was eventually caught and sent to federal prison. Her mother was forced to leave her family to seek employment for one year, until she could move them with her where she worked in a boarding house. She describes her mother as a hardworking unselfish lady who tended to the sick in some of the worst epidemics in the history of Bell County. She offers her personal opinions on women's liberation, careers, child care, women's roles and religion."
