Abstract Interview of Elsie Bruce by Tina Hensley. Bruce discusses her background and the Cawood Church of God.

Interviewer's description-
"Mrs. Bruce has lived in the Crummies Creek or Cawood area of Harlan County, Kentucky for most of her life. She met her husband at Mary Helen, Kentucky. Raised a family of four children. She was baptized in the Cawood Church of God in 1926 and spent most of this tape discussing church history and church practices. During this interview Mrs. Bruce discusses the concept of praying through, receiving the Holy Ghost, homecoming services and being drunk under the power of God. She also discusses the paternalistic structure of the church and the church laws governing behavior and dress of both men and women."
